Who are we?

Deadpan Theatre was founded in 2013 by Artemis Fitzalan Howard and Eliot Salt, who met during an incredibly boring technical rehearsal in Bristol and decided to write a play to liven things up a bit. They did, and ‘Low Tide in Glass Bay’ began it's sell out run at the Alma Tavern Theatre in February 2014. ‘Low Tide’ then previewed at the Landor Theatre in London before completing a month long run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014, selling out at Underbelly Cowgate before returning to Bristol and the White Theatre for a short autumn run. The company continued with sell-out runs of two further plays in Bristol and Brighton, before their musical ‘Get Your Shit Together’ became a Fringe success at the Underbelly in 2015 and transferred to London for a further run. At the Fringe 2016, Deadpan's latest offering to the Underbelly was a two-part musical called 'Pre-drinks/Afterparty' written by Eliot and Jude Mack which enjoyed a sell-out run and five-star reviews.

"A strong and ambitious team with natural wit who are heading for the heights of comic success. Imaginative and fantastically observed, this is stage-based situation comedy at its very best. Bristol's hottest comedy duo." ★★★★★ Epigram
