'Deadpan Theatre executes both shows impeccably, nailing the comic timing and delivering laughs at every turn'

 THE TIMES ★★★★

Deadpan Theatre return to the Underbelly with ‘PREDRINKS|AFTERPARTY’, 2 plays performed at the same time on alternating nights. They each feature the same characters on either side of the same night out, but are completely self contained and can be enjoyed in isolation.

PREDRINKS

PREDRINKS begin for the biggest gig of Angus’ life as he prepares to support an international star. Valiantly attempting to keep the waves of pre-emptive celebration in the air are his flatmates and guests, whose own problems threaten to eclipse the success of the evening. Past misdeeds and future crises loom large as ill-fated clown romances and x-rated lasagnes spark spirals of conflict and chaos. Heartwarming, witty, fast-paced and with bursts of hilarious original songs, (including soon to be iconic hits, ‘Lobster Ass Bitches’ and ‘#TRANSITION’) ‘PREDRINKS’ is a vital addition to a night at the Fringe.

AFTERPARTY

Angus and his friends have left his biggest gig yet in a cloud of glitter, success, and rapturous applause but the night is not over. They stumble home in the early hours of the morning, the soundtrack of Euro disco and disaster following them into the new day. Disaster takes the form of unresolved romantic conflict, ill-advised new friends and an astonishingly drunk Girl Guiding Events Coordinator who is due to sing the morning chorus at camp in a matter of hours… Heartwarming, witty, fast-paced and with bursts of hilarious original songs (including soon to be iconic hits, ‘Wake Up Bitch’ and ‘Crisp in the Carpet’), finish your night or kick it off in style with the brilliant ‘AFTERPARTY’.

'Quickfire, zinger-filled scripting from Eliot Salt and Jude Mack'
